Marieke wordt door haar cliënten en haar collega’s geroemd om haar oog voor detail. Door recht te doen aan de finesses van de zaak haalt zij optimale resultaten voor haar cliënten.
Het cassatievak verbindt wetenschap en praktijk; Marieke vindt het uitdagend dat iedere cassatiezaak complexe rechtsvragen heeft. Geen zaak is hetzelfde. Telkens moet opnieuw bekeken worden of het recht wel goed is toegepast in de specifieke situatie en of er ruimte is voor ontwikkeling van het recht. Een scherpe analyse van de hofuitspraak en creatief denken staan daarbij centraal. Zij is daarbij altijd eerlijk over de beste oplossing.
Marieke behandelt cassatiezaken over de volle breedte van het burgerlijk recht. Denk aan zaken op het gebied van het erfrecht, vermogensrecht en familierecht. Haar bijzondere interesse gaat uit naar het arbeidsrecht. Zij adviseert en procedeert in cassatie voor werknemers, werkgevers en vakbonden. Marieke heeft een aantal arresten op haar naam staan waarin de Hoge Raad de Wwz aanscherpt.
Advocaat bij de Hoge Raad
In september 2013 heeft Marieke haar cassatie-examen met goed gevolg afgelegd en op 12 juli 2016 de Proeve van Bekwaamheid behaald.
Opleiding
Marieke behaalde in 2006 haar Master Nederlands Recht. Daarna volgde zij de duale Master Sociaal Recht en Sociale Politiek aan de Universiteit van Tilburg. In het kader van haar duale masteropleiding behandelde Marieke twee jaar zaken op diverse rechtsgebieden bij het Advokatenkollektief Oud-Charlois.
