Andrea van de Velde
As managing director and member of the board, Andrea van de Velde is responsible for the course and strategy of Ekelmans Advocaten and entrusted with the firms day-to-day management. She is a dedicated director who thinks in terms of solutions and to whom business- and talent development are pivotal.

Andrea started her work at Ekelmans in 2017. Together with the partners in the firm, she determines long term strategic goals and supervises projects and development to achieve these goals. Under her leadership, Ekelmans positions itself more clearly with the focus on Insurance & Corporate. Andrea not only enjoys setting the course but implementing the strategy as well. Preferably with an eye towards the future, Ekelmans clients and their markets
Development is an important theme for Andrea. Organisational development and talent development, with special attention to the personal growth of the lawyers in the firm: moving forward together.
Andrea also enjoys working with her team, the heads of staff responsible for Finance, HR, Marketing & Communication, Housing & ICT. Thus enabling Ekelmans lawyers to concentrate on serving their clients.
Background
In the past 20 years Andrea has developed her leadership skills in various organisations. Before joining Ekelmans Advocaten, she was managing director of a law firm in Rotterdam and Amsterdam and responsible for International Educational Services as commercial manager. Before that, she worked as Program- and Deputy Director School of Law at a university of applied sciences. The first six years of her career, Andrea was a litigation and corporate lawyer in The Hague.
Education
Andrea van de Velde graduated in both Civil and Business Law from Leiden University and studied at the Law School of the University of Florida. She completed various Leadership and management development programs, such as Personal Leadership and the Sales Leadership course at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Andrea has been trained as a mediator.
