As a cassation lawyer, Taraneh specialises in civil litigation before the Supreme Court and handles cases across the full range of civil law. She also focuses on insurance and liability law.
Thanks to her experience as a lawyer at a major Dutch insurer, she knows the insurance sector from the inside. She advises and litigates in various insurance cases, including fire damage and insurance fraud.
Taraneh is well known for her expertise and entrepreneurial attitude. Clients value her advises on litigation and cassation opportunities. She steadfastly assists them in proceedings while keeping a keen eye on the importance of the case and maintaining good relations with all parties. Taraneh also acts as external advisor for litigation or strategic questions.
Lecturer and counselor
Taraneh shares her knowledge as a Liability lecturer at the CPO’s Professional Course for Corporate Lawyers and at Kerckebosch as an Insurance Fraud & Law lecturer. She also publishes regularly in legal journals and is co-author of the Compendium on Insurance Law.
In addition to her work as a lawyer, Taraneh is a deputy judge at the Amsterdam Court of Appeal.
Background
After studying Dutch law at Leiden University, where she graduated cum laude in 2002, Taraneh started her career as a lawyer at De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek in The Hague.
Previously, from 2006 to 2012, Taraneh was part of the Cassation & Expert Litigation section and the Insurance and Liability section of Ekelmans Advocaten (then Ekelmans & Meijer).
In 2017, Taraneh completed the postgraduate Grotius course in Business and Liability.
Until 2023, she was a lawyer at NN Advocaten, where she handled cases in the areas of Business liability insurance, Construction-All-Risk insurance and other technical insurance, professional liability, coverage disputes and fraud.
